Coldplay fans say 'it's a joke' as they face Ticketmaster chaos for second day

Send Push

Coldplay fans once again battled for tickets for their 2025 stadium tour this morning - but many faced major issues.

General admission tickets went on sale at 9am today with four more dates added to Wembley due to "phenomenal demand". But as soon as tickets went on sale fans reported being placed in queues of over 90,000 across each date. Fans in the queues were also told that there was "extremely limited ticket availability" across all ticket options. One X user said: "So they sold most of the Coldplay tickets in the presale lmao Ticketmaster suck."

Another added: "Has Ticketmaster done something that makes the Coldplay queue move extremely slow or is it that people are just slow checking out for this one i’ve never seen something so slow." A third fan said they were unable to enter the waiting room as they had received no verification code from Ticketmaster half an hour before 9am.

However, they were provided it one minute before tickets went live. They said: "Great. Try to get into the waiting room every 5 minutes from 8am. Then, get in but no veri code for 15 mins. Then, 1 minute to enter the queue and am now 21k+ for Hull after 2 presales. @TicketmasterUK you are bloody hopeless #coldplay."

Fans said they were feeling "hopeless" on getting tickets with a large number blaming Ticketmaster for the issues. One X user said: "Again @TicketmasterUK f**king with everyone chances to see #Coldplay. I was logged in at 8:30 am and when joined the queue was at 54k people how is that even possible???? How do they give preferences i don't really understand. Let's do a petition against this Company Mafia."

Even before the sale began, fans were reporting issues. Half an hour before one X user said: "@TicketmasterCS right I've literally signed in. Selected Coldplay and you've paused me so I can't try for tickets. Genuinely. What's going on?! This is an absolute joke."

Other users reported being unable to enter the waiting however verification codes were not being sent. Another X user said the site had already crashed sharing a screenshot of a screen which said: " Something went wrong". They said: "A shambles already and the tickets haven’t even gone live…. #coldplay".

Yesterday presale tickets went on sale at 9am on Ticketmaster and fans with a presale code - which you got by preordering the band's new album "Moon Music" - got the chance to try and grab a ticket for a show at Craven Park Stadium in Hull or London's Wembley. However, thousands of fans managed to bag themselves the presale code which caused lengthy queues when they went on sale.

Many fans took to X to share their frustration, with some reporting joining a queue with 125,000 people in it. Others reported presale codes not working and others said the Ticketmaster site repeatedly "crashed" while they had tickets in their basket.

How much are Coldplay tickets?

Coldplay has confirmed it will not be doing dynamic pricing for these tickets. On the Ticketmaster website, an update read yesterday: "All ticket prices for these concerts are fixed at the advertised rate."

General admission standing tickets are priced at £112.75 per ticket (£110 plus £2.75 order fee) Seats are priced between £55.00 to£165.00 per ticket plus a £2.75 per order fee. These prices exclude VIP and hotel packages. The band will also be releasing a limited number of £20 Infinity tickets on 22nd November. Infinity Tickets are randomly allocated for anywhere in the venue and are available across all 12 dates. Note, the tickets must be bought in pairs, so you're spending £40.

How many people does Wembley Stadium hold?

Wembley Stadium holds 90,000 seats. It is classified as the largest sports venue in the UK and the second-largest stadium in Europe. Next summer, Coldplay will play 10 nights at London's Wembley Stadium - shattering the record held by Take That and Taylor Swift.

Craven Park in Hull has previously hosted gigs for Little Mix, Rod Steward, The Who and Beautiful South. For those shows the stadium had a capacity of 20,000.
