If you use an iPhone for your daily digital needs, it's vital that you check your Settings immediately and make sure the iOS operating system is fully up to date. Apple has just released an 'important' update that not only fixes a 'rare issue' which can break Apple CarPlay connections but also mends two security flaws.
Although that may not sound very scary, the US giant has rushed so quickly to resolve this duo of bugs because both have been handed the dreaded zero-day rating. For those not in the know, that basically means hackers have become aware of the gremlins and are actively exploiting them in the wild.
That's why it's vital to check that your devices are running on the latest software - iOS 18.4.1.
Explaining more, Apple said, "This update provides important bug fixes and security updates, and addresses a rare issue that prevents wireless CarPlay connection in certain vehicles."

Along with Apple urging users to download this patch, security experts have all said this update is 'essential'.
“Apple’s iOS 18.4.1 update underscores the ongoing importance of rapid patching as the company warns of two now fixed issues which may have already been exploited," said Sylvain Cortes, VP Strategy, Hackuity.

"For individual users and enterprise environments alike, prompt installation of iOS 18.4.1 is not just recommended, it’s essential.”
