Speaking to the , a source commented: "Victoria and David would do anything to get their son back, but they are done with Nicola now."

They claimed that Nicola would "kick something off" making it "impossible" for him to attend family events. The source claimed: "It all stinks of a control thing. The family are absolutely certain this is what happened this time round, that a drama was created and Brooklyn doesn't feel he can turn up to see his family – but it happened three times in a week."

But David and Victoria are said to be keen to resolve any drama surrounding the family. Speaking to the , a source commented: "It has become a problem and not something they can keep private because of the way the family uses social media. Things have escalated in recent months, and there is a very obvious rift that David and Victoria would love to heal."
