Alex Jones, known for hosting The One Show, has posted a family update on social media after a "heartbreaking" conclusion to her summer holidays.
Last week, she turned to Instagram to inform followers that their family kitten Sabrina had been struck by a vehicle, and despite fracturing her pelvis she had managed to drag herself back to their home seeking assistance.
Alex and her family instantly sought help from her mate, celebrity veterinarian Noel Fitzpatrick, describing him as "the light at the end of a pretty scary 24 hours".

Alex posted the update on Instagram on Thursday, July 30 alongside a selfie of herself, her husband Charlie Thomson, their wounded kitten Sabrina and the Supervet.
She revealed: "Today, we went to see @profnoelfitzpatrick to take our little Sabrina home. After the accident, She was in a very bad way with her pelvis broken in several places , internal bleeding and worse, her sciatic nerve trapped between two shards of bone.
"The pain must have been excruciating but she made it home to let us know she needed help.
"We chose to take her to Noel, a friend and a man who understands animals like no other and he, after a very complex operation has saved her. It's nearly a miracle.
"Here is the thing though, when you take your animal to the vet for serious or routine procedures, you can choose where you would like them referred and Fitzpatrick referrals deal with all the things, neurology, orthopaedic, dentistry and also minor stuff. They welcome all cases with open and caring arms. It's not just the complex stuff.

"Charlie and I are so passionate as Noel and his team saved our little kitten and did it with such empathy and compassion. We will never go anywhere else. Thank you Noel."
The telly presenter revealed that whilst at the veterinary practice they also encountered a famous face.
Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri was also at Fitzpatrick Referrals with her beloved pet.
Alex revealed: "Ps, we also bumped in to @sharleenspiteri which was an absolute treat on a pretty stressful morning. Her little Socks was having dentistry. That's us in the last picture."
Despite the distressing incident, Alex had made her return to the One Show just days following the mishap.
On Monday, July 28 she was joined by JLS star JB Gill after the programme's extended summer hiatus.
The duo welcomed guests The Good Doctor's Freddie Highmore and Unforgivable actress Anna Friel, who both discussed their latest ventures.
The One Show is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
