In India, it is known as Lifeline Express. You must have seen providing its service in the train accidents that happened in the last few months.

Why was Lifeline Express started?

In the year 1991, Indian Railways started the operation of train ambulance i.e. Lifeline Express for the first time. Actually, the Government of India started this train ambulance so that the poor people living in the remote areas of the country, who cannot go to big cities for treatment, can get treatment delivered to their homes. Especially for those who are physically able, the government started this train to provide high medical facilities to them.

What are the facilities on the train?
Indian Railway's Lifeline Express provides medical facilities to remote areas. So Lifeline Express also provides medical facilities in train accidents. It can be called a mobile hospital in a way. Lifeline Express reaches where doctors and medicines cannot reach.

It has been designed exactly like a hospital. It has beds for patients. It has modern machines and, an operation theatre. And a dedicated medical staff. Every coach on this train has a power generator. Along with this, there is a medical ward. And the facility of pantry car is also available inside the train.
