India’s men’s cricket tour of Bangladesh, originally scheduled for August 17 to 31, is now expected to be postponed indefinitely due to rising political tensions and security concerns in the host nation. The series, including three one-day and three T20 matches, is due to start on August 17 in Dhaka.

According to News 18 report, The root of the disruption lies in ongoing domestic unrest in Bangladesh, triggered in part by the reported collapse of the Sheikh Hasina government, which has led to a significant diplomatic standoff with neighboring countries, including India. These developments have raised substantial safety concerns for players and officials.

Indian broadcasters have reportedly been notified that the India-Bangladesh series will not proceed as planned. Furthermore, no Invitation To Tender (ITT) has been circulated for the series, reinforcing the likelihood of the postponement.

However, Cricbuzz has reported that the tour is effectively off with a formal announcement yet to arrive from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
