Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A hoax bomb threat on the Lokmanya Tilak Kamayani Express, en route from Itarsi to Bhusaval, caused a stir within the railway department, as reported by Government Railway Police (GRP) on Saturday.
Following this, the train was made to halt for about an hour at Indore's Khandwa railway station.
Here, the passengers were taken off the coaches after which a thorough search was carried out for about an hour.
4 coaches were targeted in threat
No explosive or objectionable material was found during the search. Information about the presence of a bomb in coach S-4, S-5 or B-4, B-5 of train number 11072 Kamayani Express was received by GRP Police Khandwa.
It was relayed by Bhopal GRP Control Room at around 12.42 pm.
Regarding the matter, GRP station in-charge MP Thakkar immediately informed RPF, city police and railway officials. At the time of information, the train was nearing Talvadia Railway Station.
As soon as the train reached platform number five of Khandwa station, GRP, RPF, Kotwali police station started investigating the train with the help of dog squad.
When no danger was spotted in the mentioned coaches, other ones were checked. During this, an unclaimed bag was found, however, it carried nothing suspicious as per the bomb squad and trained dog.
Firstly, Jalgaon control room received threat
After the confirmation of no danger, public and cops were relieved. After this, the train was shows a green light towards Bhusawal at around 1.55 pm.
GRP station in-charge MP Thakkar said that Jalgaon control room had received information on phone about the presence of bomb in Kamayani Express.
He forwarded this information to Aurangabad control room. Since the train was in Bhopal Railway Division at this time, Bhopal GRP control room was informed about this information.
Station manager said “We received information from Bhopal about a bomb in the train. RPF, City Police and Station Master were immediately informed. No explosive or suspicious material was found during the search of the train”.
