Joao Pedra nets brace against Fluminese
The former Watford striker had only joined the Blues for £60 million ($81.5 million) less than two weeks prior, opting to cut short his post-season break to link up with the team early in the United States.
His first goal came midway through the first half, the result of slick interplay on the left wing. Pedro Neto played a crucial role in the buildup, drawing defenders out of position before the ball was worked to Joao Pedro near the left edge of the penalty box. With a deft touch to shift the ball onto his right foot, the 23-year-old curled a precise strike into the far corner beyond goalkeeper Fabio a goal that showcased both elegance and execution.
