Mumbai will celebrate the 79th Independence Day on August 15 with grandeur and enthusiasm. Alongside the national festivities, various religious processions and events are scheduled across the city.
Special Security Measures Announced
To ensure the safety of citizens and maintain law and order, the Mumbai Police Commissioner has issued a special security plan under the supervision of the Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order). The plan aims to allow residents to celebrate both national and religious events safely, while ensuring smooth traffic management.
Massive Police Deployment Across the City
On Independence Day, a strong security deployment will be in place, including 6 Additional Commissioners of Police, 17 Deputy Commissioners of Police, 39 Assistant Commissioners of Police, 2,529 officers, and 11,682 constables. The deployment will be supported by Force One, SRPF platoons, Quick Response Teams, Riot Control Squads, Delta and Combat Teams, as well as Home Guards, strategically stationed at key locations across Mumbai.
Citizen Advisory for Safety and Cooperation
The Mumbai Police have urged citizens to remain patient in crowded areas, cooperate with security personnel, and report any unattended objects immediately. Residents are encouraged to follow all rules and celebrate the national and religious festivities with harmony and enthusiasm.
