Dhanteras Rituals: Dhanteras, which marks the beginning of the five-day Diwali festival, is also known as Dhantrayodashi. Buying gold and silver on this day is considered auspicious, but even if you don't have the budget, purchasing certain other items is considered auspicious. Brass utensils bring health and wealth, and cowries are associated with Goddess Lakshmi and should be painted with turmeric and kept in a safe.

Many festivals are celebrated across the country throughout the year, one of which is Dhanteras. This festival marks the beginning of the five-day Diwali celebration. Also known as Dhantrayodashi, buying gold and silver on Dhanteras is considered extremely auspicious. But if you don't have the budget to buy gold or silver this time, there are some other items that are considered auspicious to buy on Dhanteras.
Brass Utensils: Brass is considered a symbol of Lord Dhanvantari. It is believed that buying brass utensils on Dhanteras and keeping them in the home increases health, good fortune, and wealth thirteenfold.
Yellow Cowries: Cowries are considered to be associated with Goddess Lakshmi. Buy cowries on Dhanteras. If they are not already colored, color them with turmeric. On the night of Diwali, after worshipping Goddess Lakshmi, keep these cowries in your safe. This ensures a continuous flow of money into your home.
Gomati Chakra: Gomati Chakras are considered very sacred and miraculous. On Dhanteras, buy 11 Gomati Chakras, tie them in a red cloth, and keep them in your safe. Doing so eliminates financial problems and strengthens your financial situation.
New Broom: Buying a new broom on Dhanteras is considered very auspicious. It is said to be a symbol of Goddess Lakshmi. It is believed that a new broom sweeps poverty from the home and brings happiness and prosperity. Before bringing this broom home and using it, worship it.
Coriander Seeds: Buying dried coriander seeds on Dhanteras and offering them to Goddess Lakshmi is considered auspicious. Coriander is also considered a symbol of wealth. After the puja, placing these seeds in your safe or at the place of Goddess Lakshmi brings stability and prosperity to your home.
