To mark three decades of Bengali theatre in the city, Dishari Pune organised Rangadhwani National Theater Festival 2025 , on November 1 and 2, at Jyotsna Bhole Sabhagruha, Hirabaug. With a mission to sustain and celebrate the richness of Bengali theatre beyond West Bengal, the Pune-based Bengali theatre group showcased productions complete with veteran directors and actors. While there was Kolkata-based Kasba Arghya’s Antigone , conceptualised and directed by Manish Mitra, who is known for his reimagination of classical texts; there was Typist — an exploration of human connection and isolation by KolkataA scene from Antigone based theatre group Shyambazar Mukhomukhi. The play was directed by Poulami Chattopadhyay and featured Debshankar Halder, besides the director herself.
