Rishabh Pant marked his return to Test cricket in England with a blistering century and an acrobatic celebration that has taken the cricketing world by storm.

On Saturday, the wicketkeeper-batter brought up his seventh Test hundred, and third on English soil, with a soaring six before launching into his now-iconic backflip, instantly triggering a viral moment.

Pant resumed the day on his overnight score of 65 and wasted no time taking charge. He entered the 90s with a flurry of boundaries off Shoaib Bashir in the 96th over. Then, in the 100th over, he danced down the track to a flighted delivery and launched it over mid-wicket for a six, bringing up his century in true Pant style.

Moments later, he dropped his bat and executed a clean backflip on the pitch, a rare sight in the longest format of the game, drawing applause from the Indian camp and fansin the stands.

With this hundred, Pant went past the likes of MS Dhoni and Wriddhiman Saha for most Test centuries by a designated Indian wicketkeeper. Pant now leads the list with seven centuries, ahead of Dhoni (6) and Saha (3), underlining his stature as India’s most prolific Test keeper-batter.

Netizens called Pant's celebration as one of the most decorated, following his comeback after the accident.
