Art collector Shalini Passi has grabbed quite a few eyeballs ever since she made her reality TV debut with the Netflix show ‘ Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’. Aside from her eye for art and fabulous fashion statements, Passi also made a name for herself for her unapologetic stances on living and self-love.
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Passi divulged some secrets of her flawless looks. She revealed that she maintained a strict diet. “I only consume raw foods until 6 pm. I eat dinner at 7 pm, and it has to be home-cooked. I don’t eat out, and if I have a social commitment, I make sure to have 'ghar ka khana (home-cooked food)' before I leave.”
She also claimed that she consumed a spoonful of warm ghee when she woke up in the morning. Shalini says, “I don’t take anything that comes in a bottle or box. I only consume natural products that help build collagen.”
Is Ghee Good For Your Skin?
What Is Ghee?
Ghee is clarified butter.
Health Benefits Of Ghee
According to Web MD, Ghee is packed with essential vitamins, antioxidants, and beneficial fats. While moderation is key, research indicates that healthy fats like those in ghee can aid the body in absorbing crucial vitamins and minerals. Cooking nutrient-rich foods with ghee may even enhance the absorption of these nutrients.
Here are some notable health benefits of including ghee in your diet:
Reduces Inflammation
In traditional Ayurvedic medicine, ghee has been applied to the skin for treating burns and swelling, though this use lacks scientific validation. However, ghee contains butyrate, a fatty acid with known anti-inflammatory properties. Research shows that butyrate may help alleviate inflammation within the body.
Assists with Weight Management
Ghee is a notable source of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a compound that may support weight loss and help reduce body fat in some individuals. Studies suggest that CLA could be effective in combating obesity.
Promotes Heart Health
Although ghee is high in fat, it contains a substantial amount of monounsaturated omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for heart health. These omega-3s help support healthy arteries and blood vessels. When incorporated into a balanced diet, ghee can aid in lowering levels of unhealthy cholesterol.
Good For Your Skin
Research shows that ghee can promote faster wound healing, enhance skin resilience, and boost collagen production, all of which are important for maintaining youthful skin.
