India registered yet another dominating win in the Asia Cup with a win against arch-rival Pakistan. Kuldeep Yadav starred with three wickets to dismantle the Pakistani middle order yet again as Pakistan struggled their way to 127/9 in 20 overs.

It was a similar start with the bat for India as Abhishek Sharma smashed a four and a six off the first two balls to set the tone for the chase. Shubman Gill, however, fell for just 10 runs before being stumped off the bowling of Siam Ayub. Batting at No 3, skipper Suryakumar Yadav anchored India's chase with an unbeaten 47 runs off 37 balls. Sharma got India off to a whirlwind start 31 runs off just 12 balls, while Tilak Varma played a run a a ball 31-run knock as India chased down the modest target in 15.5 overs.
For Pakistan, it was Ayub with all three wickets, while Abrar Ahmed kept things tight with a spell of 4 overs for 16 runs. However, none of the other bowlers managed to apply pressure on the Indian batters.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to the worst possible start by losing Ayub on the first ball of the match to Hardik Pandya. Jasprit Bumrah struck in the second over to peg the Pakistani innings that never got going.
The spin trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Varun Chakravarthy further applied a chokehold on the batting as they collectively conceded just 60 runs and picked up six wickets in 12 overs.
With the win, India is all but into the Super 4s stage of the Asia Cup.
The tension between the two teams was apparent as they did not indulge in the mandatory handshake after the match. Suryakumar Yadav had refused to acknowledge Salman Agha even at the toss.
The two nations have had further strained relations following the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 civilians in Kashmir. India had responded with Operation Sindoor and had destroyed terror camps in Pakistan and PoK.
India will next fact Oman on September 19, while Pakistan will play the UAE on September 17.
