'Aay' OTT release coming soon! Here's where you can watch Telugu rom com

The wait is over! ‘Aay’ the Telugu romantic comedy, which emerged as a sleeper hit this year, is soon to make its OTT debut! The movie, which hit the theatres last month, had stiff competition from biggies such as ‘Mr. Bachchan’ and ‘Double iSmart’, became a box-office success. According to an M9 News report, the film will now premiere on Netflix on September 12. Here’s what you need to know about ‘Aay’.

All About ‘Aay’

Written and directed by Anji K. Maniputhra, ‘Aay’ is a sweet, feel-good romantic comedy, that also addresses the prevailing problem of caste disparities in India. The movie revolves around a software engineer who falls in love with a girl from another caste and gets rejected.

The movie was produced under Allu Arjun's own production company, Geetha Arts, but with a modest budget. Bunny Vas took on the role of producer. Alongside Narne Nithin, the cast of Aay features a variety of actors, including Nayan Sarika, Rajkumar Kasireddy, Ankith Koyya, Mime Gopi, Krishna Chaitanya, VTV Ganesh, Surabhi Prabhavathi, Sri Vani Tripuraneni, Vinod Kumar, and several others.

The movie, which hit the theatres on 16 August, ended its box-office run with a decent collection of Rs 14 crore.

Since its August release, 'Aay' faced stiff competition with two other films, Mr. Bachchan and Double iSmart, all hitting theaters within the same week. Now, their OTT releases have also overlapped. While Double iSmart is already available for streaming, Mr. Bachchan is set to premiere on Netflix on September 12, coinciding with 'Aay’s digital launch. After their theatrical runs, Netflix secured the streaming rights for both Mr. Bachchan and Aay.
