When the match clock showed 15 overs, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) struggled at a mere 90 runs. Heinrich Klaasen, who was indeed on the 51-run mark, had contributed more than 56% of the team’s total. Really a night to forget for the rest of the SRH's top order, Klaasen stood up tall, pretty much preserving a fighting total against the Mumbai Indians with a controlled knock of 71 off 44 deliveries.
In the previous match against the Wankhede, it was again an instance of Klaasen being the central figure for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. With the ball dominating, SRH was in a spot of bother, reduced to 23/3 during the powerplay, and he scaled up to the point of make it competitive with his 37 off 28. This time, that was an even bigger impact.
Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Nitish Kumar Reddy got back into the tent early and left SRH reeling at 35/5 in just over nine overs. By the end of the 15th over, he had scored 51 out of SRH's 90 runs, once again carrying the batting. By that time, his final contribution of 71 had comprised more than half of SRH's eventual score of 143-an unlikely recovery at one point.
Klaasen, in fact, found company in Abhinav Manohar, who turned out to be quite useful to him in addition to above Trent Boult's scintillating 4/26 that walloped SRH early in the innings. These two made a very important 99 runs for the sixth wicket, which may have saved SRH from a possible collapse and put a score on the board to fight with.
