Uttarkashi (Uttarakhand) [India], November 6 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Shri Shakti Temple and Kashi Vishwanath Temple on Wednesday, praying for the development and welfare of both the country and the state.
During the visit, the Chief Minister participated in the seven-day Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagna held within the temple premises, joining other devotees in listening to the recitation while seated on the ground.
In his address, after honouring the Vyaspeeth and engaging in the Katha Gyan Yagna, CM Dhami remarked that such events contribute significantly to enriching our lives. He expressed gratitude, stating that divine blessings inspire people to organise these religious gatherings.
The Uttarakhand CM also emphasised the importance of preserving the sanctity of the Dhams in Devbhoomi.
"Our government has approved a proposal in the cabinet to prevent misuse of the names of our four Dhams. Uttarakhand is the first state to implement a uniform civil code. We are also ensuring strict enforcement of the conversion law. Unlawful practices such as illegal encroachment, land grabbing, and serving contaminated food will not be tolerated in the state, with stringent legal action in such cases," CM Dhami stated.
The Chief Minister added that significant measures have been introduced to combat fraud, resulting in over eighteen and a half thousand talented youth being employed based on their merit.
Earlier today, CM Dhami inaugurated the state's new guest house, 'Uttarakhand Niwas,' in New Delhi.
Uttarakhand Niwas embodies the culture, folk art, and architectural heritage of the state. A dedicated counter will be set up for 'Shri Anna' and organic products.
The Chief Minister noted that this building would serve as a symbol of Uttarakhand's pride in the national capital.
In a post on X, CM Dhami wrote, "Built in the Pahari style, this building symbolises the unique art, architecture, and culture of the state. With its construction, Uttarakhand residents visiting the national capital will have access to suitable accommodation and a homely experience." (ANI)
