Send Push

Sunrisers Hyderabad will host Mumbai Indians in the 41st match of IPL 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on April 23 at 7:30 PM. SRH, under the leadership of Pat Cummins, are struggling in this season, placed 9th with just 2 wins from 7 games. Mumbai Indians, with Hardik Pandya as captain, have 4 wins in 8 matches and currently sit 6th on the table.

Both teams have a point to prove—SRH to stay in the playoff race, and MI to build momentum mid-season.

Past record favours MI but SRH hold venue advantage

Mumbai and Hyderabad have faced each other 24 times in the IPL, with MI having the upper hand, winning 14 matches to SRH’s 10. MI have also dominated recent encounters, winning 4 out of the last 5 games. The only loss in that stretch came in IPL 2024 when SRH won by 31 runs.

Earlier this season, MI defeated SRH by 4 wickets. Will Jacks starred in that game with a 26-ball 36 and 2 wickets, earning the Player of the Match award.

Hyderabad’s high scores and power-hitters could tilt the game

The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium has turned into a batting field this year. With an average first innings score of 218.3 in IPL 2025, teams chasing have managed to win 50% of the time. This suits SRH's aggressive style, especially with the opening pair of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma.

Heinrich Klaasen’s big-hitting has also been effective at this venue, and SRH's familiarity with the conditions may give them an edge. Though MI have depth in batting with Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma, bowlers like Hardik Pandya may find it hard to control the run flow.

Fans expect big performances from Head, Tilak, and HardikSocial media is buzzing ahead of the match. One fan predicted, “Travis Head will score the most runs tonight!”

Another backed Mumbai with, “Rohit will out early, Tilak Varma 50 runs knock, Hardik Pandya mass sambavam.” A third user warned, “SRH want to spoil MI party tonight and maybe others too,” hinting at the playoff implications.

One fan even shared a personal strategy: “SRH will win if you follow my plan—Travis Head, Kishan, Abhishek Sharma—back them!”

With playoff hopes at stake, big runs expected, and fans fired up, SRH vs MI promises good entertainment tonight.
