This process is completely digital and fast.
The form has to be filled out online.
You get a deposit voucher, form online. Along with this, customers also have the option to open these savings schemes digitally or offline. All Aadhaar numbers will be hidden on the form. The postmaster will ensure that if any unhidden Aadhaar number is visible, the first 8 numbers are manually blackened. All post offices and CBS centers have been instructed to hide Aadhaar numbers on both physical and digital documents.
Biometric Data Capture
When you register for an Aadhaar card, your biometric information, such as fingerprint and iris scan, is captured. Aadhaar Biometric Lock/Unlock is a feature that allows you to temporarily lock or unlock your biometrics. This feature enhances the security of your biometric data.
How does Aadhaar Biometric work?
The counter postal assistant (PA) initiates the account opening process through a system menu. To enable you to use Aadhaar for e-KYC, your biometric data (fingerprint) is captured. After this, the required details such as name, type of scheme, and deposit amount are entered in the PA system. Before submission, a second fingerprint is captured to authenticate and complete the transaction. Customers do not need to fill any pay-in voucher as the amount submitted as specified in the e-KYC account opening form SB-eKYC-AOF is considered final.
