Odisha News: Just before the world-famous Rath Yatra, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has made a big announcement for the temporary employees of the state. The Chief Minister has approved the proposal to increase the lump sum benefit on termination of service from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh.
A lump sum amount of Rs 2.5 lakh will be given
According to the new decision, any temporary employee whose service is ending, whether he is not adjusted to a regular post or has not completed five years of service. He will now be given a lump sum amount of Rs 2.5 lakh. At the same time, those employees who have served for more than five years on a regular post will get a minimum gratuity amount of Rs 2.5 lakh at the time of retirement.
Apart from this, the government has also decided that this one-time benefit will be increased by 10 percent every two years. For this, the departments will not need to take prior permission from the Finance Department; they will be able to implement this increase automatically.
Rath Yatra is starting from today
This announcement, which came a day before the Rath Yatra, will boost the morale of thousands of temporary employees working in various departments of the state. This decision reflects the Chief Minister's commitment towards the welfare of the employees. Let us tell you that this year the Rath Yatra is starting from Friday (today).
On this auspicious occasion, Lord Jagannath along with his elder brother Lord Balabhadra and sister Devi Subhadra will depart for their aunt's house, Gundicha Temple, riding on three huge chariots. Lord Jagannath will be seated on the Nandighosha chariot, Lord Balabhadra on the Taladhwaja chariot, while Goddess Subhadra will take her place on the Darpadalana chariot.
