Strictly Come Dancing fans are convinced there is trouble behind-the-scenes of the show as Wynne Evans and Katya Jones seemed to disappear from the set.

The and the are one of the 11 remaining couples in the current 2024 season of However, their time on the hit show has been marred by controversy after an apparent joke struck an unsavoury chord with viewers.

Two weeks ago, viewers were horrified when Wynne placed a hand on Katya's hip - and it slowly drifted across her body, seemingly caressing her abdomen. The dance professional slapped the hand away prompting many viewers to express concern online that the move had not been consented to.

Wynne and Katya promptly issued a statement saying they were close friends, that they had been joking together on screen, and that all was well between them. However, viewers have suggested the pair are getting less air time following the scandal.

On Saturday night, contestants on the dance show dressed up in costumes for a Halloween themed episode - with Wynne and Katya dressed as horny devils for the night. They performed a sizzling Salsa together to the sound of Canned Heat by Jamiroquai and securing 31 points from the judges.

But viewers were confused when the couple were barely seen away from the dancefloor and were mysteriously absent from the green room where the other contestants gather to chat with Claudia Winkelman after their time on the ballroom floor. One fan on X asked: "Is Wynne not allowed to be with Claudia and the other contestants at the top of the stairs? Have not seen him there all show." And another typed: "Are they deliberately keeping Wynne & Katya away from the cameras?" The has contacted a BBC spokesperson for comment.

The observation from fans comes after Katya previously defended Wynne over his apparent wandering hand. She told fans via : "I need to make something crystal clear. The hand incident that happened on Saturday night was a very silly inside joke between Wynne and I. So even the idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is complete nonsense. It’s actually absurd."

Her statement came soon after Wynne himself discussed his close bond with Katya to the Daily Mail. He told the publication: "She's almost 20 years younger than me, and she seems 20 years wiser than I am. We talk a lot about what's going on in life and what's going on in the .

"I suppose I've learned that I can only focus on myself. I can't control anything else around me. And I mean, I still not very good at that, but I can't control everything around me. I can only control what I'm doing and how I'm doing and how I'm performing and how I'm behaving, and that's all I can really focus on."
