Newly single Ruth Langsford is soldiering through some tough times - despite a booming career, ranging from her ITV spot on Loose Women to her fashion line with QVC, she is now bracing for life without her long-time partner Eamonn Holmes.

The duo were married for 14 years and were together for almost three decades. But insiders said the 64-year-oldis trying her best to move on following the collapse of her union to the broadcaster, also 64. However, she's grappling with revelations that Eamonn may already be seeing someone new a mere few months after their split announcement.

Snaps of Eamonn with Katie Alexander, 42, made the rounds, showing the pair in Barcelona prepared to go on a Mediterranean cruise together, then packing on the PDA in Ibiza – a trip which reportedly followed a weekend break to Eamonn's hometown of Belfast. Sources suggest that Ruth has been taken aback by these developments.

"Ruth is pretty shocked at Eamonn's behaviour and how he's moved on so fast, it's quite devastating," sources told OK! Nevertheless, the celeb, now flaunting a refreshed, lengthened hairstyle thanks to extensions, is focused on relishing her newfound single status and what lies ahead, they assert.

The mum-of-one, who shares her grown-up son Jack with Eamonn, has been seen enjoying several lively nights out with friends recently, seemingly as a way to distract herself from her personal troubles. Most notably, she had a fun-filled evening with her old friend Rylan Clark, ending up at his Essex home along with Lizzie Cundy.

Their night of revelry was documented on Rylan's Instagram stories, where Ruth was seen enthusiastically enjoying two cocktails simultaneously while the trio "put the world to rights". Just last month, she was spotted letting loose during a boozy girls' night out with pals Rachael Eleri and Liv Davey, even posing for an Instagram photo in stylish sunglasses. A source told OK!: "She's just trying to get on with life and be around good friends, she's partying through the pain and is trying to get through it.

"Ruth is distracting herself and doing things that make her happy keeping busy and being around friends, family and work is the only way she can get through it." Eamonn's reported new romance with Katie came to light in May after he left the Surrey home he shared with Ruth, amid allegations of messages found to another woman.

The GB News presenter, who has three children from his first marriage to Gabrielle Holmes, who he married in 1985, has since moved into a London flat, where Katie is said to be a regular visitor post-split. Despite the marital turbulence, both Eamonn and Ruth have been spotted still wearing their wedding bands. Concerns for Ruth were raised by viewers when she appeared on Loose Women, looking visibly upset.

ITV fans reached out on social media, offering support and commenting on her apparent distress. One user remarked, "Cannot be easy for Ruth when Eamonn features in most newspapers. " Another observed: "You can tell that Ruth has been hurting from the pictures of Eamonn with her younger blondie, Ruth looks like she has been crying as her eyes looks puffed up," adding eagerly: "I can't wait to see Ruth's new boyfriend #loosewomen.

Sources suggest Ruth is struggling to accept the situation. as one claimed: "Ruth thought marriage was forever so she's not happy about it but Eamonn has fallen for Katie, who has made it clear she's in it for the long haul. So, there isn't much Ruth can do. She's just in shock.

"They were together for 27 years, so it's strange to see him doing all of this each day, it's like another holiday or another outing, it's hard to see. " They continued: "It's not a case of having regrets or no regrets, but Ruth is just doing the only thing she can. She's trying to have a fresh start."

At the National Television Awards (NTAs) last Wednesday night, Ruth's Loose Women colleagues spoke of how their friend was doing, following her separation. Kaye Adams said: "She's doing great," while Nadia Sawalha added that Ruth "looks amazing". Asked about the bond between them all, Kaye said: "We're friends and that's what friends do. And we've all had highs and lows and we've all supported each other."
