Newcastle have one player who is in danger of missing the clash against Chelsea through suspension heading into the return of Premier League football.

Joelinton has four yellow cards across the first seven matches of the season for Newcastle. If the Brazilian picks up one more booking then he would need to serve a one-game suspension in the Premier League.

Newcastle will face Brighton this weekend, and Joelinton is a likely starter based on the previous matches this season. Eddie Howe has started the midfielder in all nine of Newcastle's fixtures in all competitions this term, and it would be a surprise if that were to change against Brighton.

If Joelinton was to be given another yellow card against the Seagulls, then he would serve a one-game ban which would see him miss the clash against Chelsea.

Chelsea will have two of their own players serve one-game suspensions this weekend for the clash against Liverpool. Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella both have five yellow cards this season and will return to the matchday squad for the Premier League clash against Newcastle the following week, as well as the Europa League tie versus Panathinaikos in midweek.
