Liverpool fans love what Ryan Gravenberch did on night off after being rested vs Brighton

Ryan Gravenberch was given the night off by Arne Slot on Wednesday — but .

The Dutchman has been in brilliant form throughout the season, lining up in each of 's matches in the and Champions League, while he has also started every game for the Netherlands since Euro 2024.

One competition he is yet to feature in is the Carabao Cup, with leaving the midfielder out of the squad entirely for the third-round win over West Ham in September as well as Wednesday's fourth-round reverse of Brighton.

However, despite not being on the pitch at the AMEX Stadium, the 22-year-old ensured he didn't miss the action, as his partner, Cindy Peroti, shared a picture of him watching the match on his phone while the pair were out at a restaurant together.

The picture was accompanied by the caption: "Always, it doesn't matter where he is!". Needless to say, Liverpool fans loved his commitment, with one writing on social media: "Ryan Gravenberch is all us when we are out on 'date' night," and another saying: "Like a regular lad following his favourite club. Love it!"

Gravenberch has shone in a deeper midfield role under Slot, after being tasked with playing there following the Reds' failure to sign principal summer transfer target Martin Zubimendi.

Slot has shown huge faith in the youngster, whose career had stuttered following his departure from Ajax in 2022. Gravenberch joined Liverpool last year after a disappointing season at Bayern Munich, but was by no means a regular fixture in Jurgen Klopp's Reds side, starting just 12 times in the Premier League.

However, with the backing of the new Reds boss, he is showing just why he was so highly regarded when he was coming through the ranks in Amsterdam. Gravenberch's form this season has caught the eye of Dutch legend Edgar Davids, who praised his compatriot's excellent form.

“If you look at Ryan Gravenberch, he played on the left now he plays on the right. He didn’t do well at Bayern Munich and he didn’t do very well first year in Liverpool but now he’s on top of the world,” Davids told this week.

“Some managers have clear visions and clear roles for certain players. But in the beginning they wanted to buy another player and they couldn’t get him, so they had to put him there. Then. as manager. you also have a responsibility to train him and to guide him and until now he did well.”
