The source claimed: "Then in recent weeks his drinking and suspected drug use started to worry his friends, they were actually planning an intervention, it was that bad." They added that on the day of his death, Liam was "acting very off and erratically". "One of his friends suggested to him again that he should get help but this just seemed to set him off more," the source said.

Hotel Casa Sur's head of reception had made two 911 calls, asking for "someone to come" after disclosing that a guest was "off his head on drugs and is destroying everything in his room". The staff who interacted with him asked him to return to his hotel room, but minutes later, the impact of his body was heard when he fell from the third floor.

A hotel guest, named Rebecca (not her real name), claimed to that Liam during a 30-minute conversation with him. Rebecca said Liam's "bizarre" final moments have left her shaken as she claimed he "wanted to get recognised" while in the lobby.

He left but later returned to the lobby with a laptop in hand and began reading emails in public view. Rebecca recalled seeing the singer opening an email that "obviously upset him". "Suddenly he took the computer, shouted 'f**k this s**t mate!' and started bashing the computer on the ground," she added.

According to Rebecca, staff and guests inside the high-end hotel were really shocked so she went over to check if the distressed star was ok. "But he just kind of grunted," Rebecca said Liam's response to her concern was. "Then he said 'I used to be in a boyband. That's why I'm so f**ked up'." It has been claimed Liam was in the days preceding his death.
