Jose Mourinho shows true colours with offer to journalists ahead of Man Utd clash

Jose Mourinho has told an English journalist that he can take his hotel room if he needs somewhere to stay for a night.

The Fenerbahce boss is preparing for a reunion with with the two teams clashing in the on Thursday night. Mourinho will be aiming to down his old team as he settles into life in Istanbul.

Mourinho is yet to find himself a permanent base in the Turkish city and has been staying at the Four Seasons hotel - where he's racked up a . He checked into the hotel, which overlooks the Bosphorus, and it is a destination where the cheapest room costs £1,000 a night. The accommodation states that it has "meticulously designed rooms and suites" and also boasts "world-class dining options" and a spa on site.

The Special One has found himself dealing with the English press once again, some of whom were covering him when he first arrived in England as boss 20 years ago. He joked about inviting them to come join him at his temporary residence - before one journalist stated he still needed accommodation.

Mourinho said: "If any Englishman wants a swimming pool and sun you know where I live, you know what I eat, you can go there. You need a room to sleep - you can stay there tonight and tomorrow." He then addressed one journalist and said: "You need a room? I can give you my card, no problem."

Fenerbahce have picked up four points from their opening two European games. They were held by Twente last time out whilst United have drawn both games and need a strong result to ensure they don't lose touch with those at the top of the standings.

Mourinho has Fenerbahce sat fourth domestically with his one loss coming against fierce rivals Galatasaray. He's looking to claim his first honour since winning the Europa Conference League whilst at Roma. Whilst in Manchester he claimed the Europa League.

That remains the club's last European trophy and Mourinho has also joked that he's hoping to add the 2017/18 title to his CV. His United side finished second behind , who broke numerous records en route to the title, but face charges from the Premier League amid suggestions they could be stripped of their crown.

He joked: "I think we still have a chance to win that league because maybe they punish Man City with points and maybe we win that league and then they have to pay me the bonus and give me the medal."
