Homes Under The Hammer house unrecognisable after incredible transformation

A Homes Under The Hammer expert was gobsmacked by a stunning transformation of a once dilapidated property.

Presenter Tommy Walsh ventured to the quaint hamlet of Verney Junction in Buckinghamshire, where he found a three-bedroom mid-terrace cottage nestled among idyllic countryside, with a guide price of £160,000.

Upon entering, Tommy had high hopes for the interior, despite the exterior's neglected appearance. He quickly spotted an issue, pointing out mould lurking in a corner.

As he explored further, his optimism waned. "This is a nice size room," he commented, "But it needs completely gutting. The whole ground floor. And then someone's made this outside space into an inside space and put a plastic roof on it. If you want to keep the configuration then that needs to be addressed and done properly."

Ascending to the first floor, Tommy observed that while the bedroom was spacious, its colour scheme wasn't to his liking. More bizarrely, the upstairs bathroom lacked a toilet, which he later discovered was instead at the back of the house, reports .

"It's not really suitable for modern living," he concluded, surveying the outbuildings that offered potential as a gym or office. The overgrown garden, though wild, presented ample opportunity to craft a delightful outdoor area.

Dominique snapped up the property for a cool £245,000 and had her sights set on following in her parents' footsteps as a property developer. She shared her ambitions, stating: "This house is for investment. We'd like to rent it out and then maybe sell it along. I think further down we'd like to have a property portfolio, but for now we just want to get our foot in the door."

She had big plans to roll up her sleeves and tackle much of the renovation work herself, transforming the property significantly. Dominique aimed to spruce up the place and convert an outbuilding to expand the living space.

Once the overhaul was complete and they revisited the abode, it emerged that Dominique had ploughed £65,000 into the upgrade, which included essential plumbing and wiring overhauls. An impressed estate agent, who had seen the home before the revamp, couldn't help but praise the work done.

He was full of admiration for the makeover, saying: "Well it's an amazing transformation! The selling point is definitely the wow factor. When you go into the huge open plan sitting room, dining room and kitchen, with the views through the garden. It's amazing."
