Bethesda is rolling out a hotfix for Fallout 76 today and while the Milepost Zero Caravan content still isn't dropping, it's set to fix issues the patch introduced.
Fallout 76 servers are going down today, and Bethesda is planning to drop a hotfix that is targeted at some minor issues that were thrown up in the wake of the Milepost Zero update at the start of the month. That update was set to introduce new features (like Caravans) and a questline tied to Milepost Zero to unlock all of the new content (as well as rolling out Season 18) – but instead, Milepost Zero launched without Milepost Zero, accompanied by a very quiet 'announcement' from Bethesda saying we'd be getting it later this month.
Well, it's later this month, and Milepost Zero is still MIA; however Fallout 76 servers are going down for maintenance today for a hotfix. So no Milepost Zero today, chaps. Instead, today's update will target a handful of bugs that found their way into the game following the last patch. While Bethesda hasn't posted Fallout 76 patch notes for this hotfix just yet, among the issues getting addressed today is the pesky disappearing loot bug, and stability improvements.
If the Caravan content does appear today, it'd be a little odd that Bethesda didn't promote it more, given the disappointment over it not releasing when the company initially implied it would, but we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, here's when Fallout 76 servers are down, and when they should be back online.

Fallout 76 server downtimeAs detailed in a recent Steam post, Fallout servers will be offline from 3pm BST / 10am EDT / 7am PDT, today, Tuesday, September 17. The date and time has been officially confirmed and is in line with the usual Fallout 76 server maintenance schedule which sees updates, hotfixes, and general server maintenance take place every Tuesday at this time. Of course, there are some rare exceptions, but not today.
Based on the typical three hour downtime, Fallout 76 servers should be back online by 6pm BST / 1pm EDT / 10am PDT. The last update was a hefty one – mostly because it required a full redownload of the game – and while Bethesda warned players of longer Fallout 76 server downtime because of it, it didn't actually run as long as predictions indicated. Ideally we'll be back in before three hours, but we'll let you know when Fallout 76 servers are back online. The Bethesda.net portal is also a great place to keep up with server maintenance schedules and downtimes.
Fallout 76 patch notesWe'll add the official patch notes as soon as Bethesda shares them, but for now, here's what the developer has highlighted for today's Fallout 76 update:
- Fix for disappearing loot
- Stability improvements
If Bethesda surprise drops the Milepost Zero Caravan content, players will be thrilled, but for now, any questions it's getting on socials are being redirected to checking out the full patch notes when they're released.
