viewers think a character is set to rejoin Ross Barton in the village very soon after his return this week.
But it won't be Robert Sugden despite some sad news about the character amid the tragic death of Ross' ex Rebecca White. Former character Rebecca was announced to have died just months ago in a shocking twist this week.
On Thursday night more details were revealed about her passing, amid fan speculation she's secretly alive. With her son Seb now living with an aunt, Ross is clearly in turmoil after losing both his partner and his stepson so abruptly.
But fans believe a former character will return to the show soon, and be reunited with their family. Rebecca and Ross moved away from the village with young Seb six years ago.
Ross' return brought the news that the pair had split, while they were still in each other's lives with Seb still being cared for by Ross. Ross was looking after Seb when Rebecca went into hospital for an operation, with him revealing a complication led to her sudden death.
Ross then confirmed it was agreed Seb would live and be cared for by Rebecca's aunt who adores the child, and Seb her. Apparently Rebecca often stayed with this aunt, and so Ross agreed it would be the best thing for his stepson.
But it wasn't just Ross' decision, as Robert Sugden also had a say on his son's future. With Robert in prison, Ross claimed to his sister Victoria Sugden that he knew about Rebecca and decided what would happen to Seb.

She and Robert's ex Aaron Dingle were baffled given they had only just found out about Rebecca and had not been told anything until Ross showed up. They both did not believe Robert would allow the aunt to look after Seb over Victoria, but Ross broke the news Robert had been the one to agree to it.
Robert even signed papers to confirm the plan, and when asked by Ross about what Victoria might say, he apparently said it was none of her business. Victoria was confused that he would allow Ross to visit but not her, and it emerged it had been a while since she spoke to him.
Now, fans think the storyline will pave the way for Seb to return to the village. While fans had wondered whether the news of Rebecca would bring Robert back to the show after months of rumours, it seems this is not the case at all.
With Robert still seemingly cutting contact with everyone, there's no current plans for a comeback. But is Seb about to re-enter their lives? One fan speculated: "At this point I'm sure Seb will be back," as another wrote: "Istg Robron stans you better be thankful for getting Seb back, Rebecca got killed for this."
