Eamonn Holmes and Kate Beckinsale branded 'wrong' for pictures on wild night out

Eamonn Holmes and Kate Beckinsale's social media images have sent fans into a frenzy, with some labelling the friendship as "so wrong".

The unlikely duo were snapped in a series of bizarre images posted on Kate's Instagram. In one shot, Underworld actress Kate, 51, is seen showing off her flexibility as she kicks her leg way above the former This Morning man's head. Kate was seen beaming as she flailed her leg and high platformed boot above the 64-year-old, who shared a more shocked look while donning a smart black blazer and white shirt.

In another, with Kate's leg in the same position, Eamonn pulled a cheeky pose while the actress pouted for the camera. Other images, showed the pair making crude shapes out of vegetables. Kate admitted she didn't know what to say in her upload, before adding: "When you see @eamonnholmes at a party the urge to ask him to pose with suggestive veg is unprecedented for reasons even I don’t understand . This did not happen when I met @springsteen so I have to conclude it’s either intrinsic to Eamonn or something to do with the approaching harvest festival."

Eamonn also shared the pictures on his own page, calling their meeting an "ambition fulfilled" after being online pals for a number of years. However, not everyone saw the funny side of the snaps, with one user fuming it was "weird". Another branded to images "a bit odd".

Despite the negative comments, others were quick to defend the link up. One user went as far as asking Eamonn to "close the comments section while you are on a healing journey". It comes as Eamonn moves on with new partner Katie Alexander, 42, just months after splitting from wife Ruth Langsford, 64. Earlier in the month, Eamonn was seen enjoying a trip to Barcelona with his new girlfriend while Ruth continued to work on Loose Women.

Ruth hasn't commented yet on her estranged husband's new relationship, but both Ruth and Eamonn are still wearing their wedding bands. It's thought TV star has reportedly hired Catherine Costley, who is a protegee of Baroness Fiona Shackleton. Catherine has worked under the top divorce lawyer, who also represented King Charles during his divorce from Princess Diana. She also represented Sir Paul McCartney previously.
