Coronation Street legend Alan Halsall is second I'm A Celebrity star to land in Australia

Coronation Street star Alan Halsall is the second star to land in Brisbane for this year's - but was playing down his appearance in camp.

The 42-year-old, known for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the soap since 1998, said: "I'm just here to play . It's a long way to come but I am an avid fan of...golf.

"Camping? Camping has got nothing to do with it, I am not going to be camping on the golf course!"

Alan is best friends with fellow Corrie star who appeared on the show in 2019 and came second.

Asked if he had taken any advice about from him, Alan grinned and said: "I wouldn't take any advice from Andy Whyment about anything."

Actor Alan followed McFly's Danny Jones who was the first contestant to arrive on Sunday ahead of the new series kicking off on next weekend.

He had admitted he had a "hairy" flight after his plane delayed landing because of a thunderstorm.

The full line up for I'm A Celebrity has already been well rumoured and the subject of much speculation, and it will be made official by ITV in the next few days with more arrivals due at Brisbane in the coming hours and days.

The camp will include , 38, wife of footballer Wayne and also famous for the Wagatha Christie trial with over leaked stories about her family.

N Dubz singer and former judge Tulisa Contostavlos is also thought to be making a TV comeback on the show.

legend Barry McGuigan is heading onto the show, he will be the sportsman in camp after Ally McCoist dropped out.

Bookmakers have McFly star Danny as the current favourite to win. He previously won The Masked Singer and his McFly bandmate Dougie Poynter won the show back in 2011.

Last year's winner, former Made In Chelsea star , is also back in Australia ready to co-host a new ITV2 spin off show.
