Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali break cover amid 'civil war' claims

Send Push

Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital's Behdad Eghbali put on a united front against West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.

Earelir this month, reports emerged that Boehly and Clearlake Capital's Eghbali were at loggerheads with each other regarding the ownership of the club. Boehly is said to be unhappy due to the lack of progress being made on Stamford Bridge's redevelopment, among with other factors.

football.london understands that the relationship between Boehly and Eghbali remains cordial but The Telegraph has recently reported of a 'civil war' brewing within the club. Boehly is keen on buying out Clearlake Capital and complete a full takeover of Chelsea, though Clearlake have no intention to sell.

The relationship between the two parties remains professional, but things could turn in the coming weeks, depending on the outcome of these buyout talks.

More than £1.3billion has been spent at Stamford Bridge since Boehly and Clearlake took control of the club two years ago, but reports earlier this month said the relationship between the pair was at "breaking point".

The duo have been pictured together for the first time since talk of a dispute broke, in the stands at the London Olympic Stadium for Chelsea's Premier League clash with West Ham United, putting on a united front despite the recent reports.
