Chelsea are in the driving seat to qualify for next season's Champions League. Head coach Enzo Maresca, Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital know how important qualification for the competition is.
are not necessarily short on cash, like their top-flight rivals , but they do also realise that if they finish in the top-five they will be in line for a nice financial boost. Such a bonus in terms of money coming into the club could impact significantly the business that Chelsea are able to do in the transfer market.
With this in mind, football.london has taken a closer look at two reports circulating around the club;

Chelsea receive Sane boostWriting in his column former Bayern Munich player Didi Hamann has implored the German giants to withdraw their contract offer to after it was reported his financial demands had changed. He wrote: "For a long time, it looked like a contract extension for Leroy Sane at FC Bayern, but then the player changed his agent and is demanding more money.
"He's welcome to change agents, but if something has already been negotiated, the club has to stand firm. FC Bayern must take back control! Therefore, now would be a good time to withdraw the offer for Sane."
Sane's current deal at the Allianz Arena expires at the end of this season and Chelsea are reportedly among the clubs looking to bring him back to the Premier League.
What football.london says: If Sane becomes a free agent this summer, you might struggle to find a better value transfer in the market. He has been in-and-out of the starting XI for Bayern this season, so his output of 13 goals and five assists is decent. At 29, he remains a good age and we already know that he can perform in the Premier League. If it was a choice between Sane and Jadon Sancho, despite the latter being younger you would take the former. He could add invaluable experience to this squad heading into, what is hoped to be, another Champions League campaign.
Chelsea warned off Caicedo dealSpeaking on radio station , Danny Murphy has suggested that there's no 'good reason, if I was in the Chelsea hierarchy, to be giving him [Moises Caicedo] more money and a longer contract than the one he's on.' Capology understands that is on £150,000-per-week at Stamford Bridge currently on a contract which expires in 2031.
reported this week that Caicedo is the next player in line for a new contract at Chelsea.
What football.london says: You'd have to agree with Murphy that there seems very little to gain with improving Caicedo's contract. It is not like the Blues are under pressure and that he could leave at some point soon. He has a whopping six years left on his deal and there is little ceiling to improve his terms. It is believed that Reece James is the highest earner at the club on £250,000-per-week. Surely the priority would be to keep hold of Cole Palmer and improve his terms. A new deal for Caicedo feels excessive.
