Chelsea are continuing talks with Borussia Dortmund this week as they look to strike an agreement over a deal for Jamie Gittens, football.london understands.
The Blues have made the 20-year-old a priority this summer as the club look to bring in a new left-sided winger to help head coach Enzo Maresca. Chelsea have already lost Jadon Sancho as the Blues chose not to take up the permanent option in his loan contract and are now very short of left wing options.
Gittens is viewed as a priority for the Blues and there is plenty of optimism a deal can be struck with Dortmund. Earlier in the month, Chelsea saw a £42million offer turned down for the England Under-21 international but the Blues never lost contact with the Black and Yellow over a possible deal for the winger.

football.london understands Chelsea and Gittens have already agreed on a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge, with the Reading-born youngster keen on a return to England. He has already informed Dortmund of his desire to leave Signal Iduna Park. As reported last week, Chelsea were preparing a fresh offer to Dortmund for Gittens.
Now, football.london understands, talks are continuing over a deal for Gittens to move to west London with much optimism over an agreement. Chelsea and Dortmund are both in the United States for the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup and have held face-to-face talks in recent days.
Alejandro Garnacho is an option with the wantaway Manchester United winger someone who is appreciated at Stamford Bridge, although there have been no talks as of yet over a move for the Argentine this summer.
