Bargain Hunt's Charlie Ross was left gobsmacked in the latest instalment of the programme.

During Monday's broadcast, sisters Karen and Tricia teamed up with antiques guru Colin Young in their quest to unearth three profitable treasures at auction.

While searching the antiques and collectors fair in Shepton Mallet, the siblings were immediately drawn to a striking cast-iron angel which was the very first piece they inspected.

Having perused the rest of the fair, the duo headed back to snag the celestial figure for £75, which met their big spend challenge, reports .

The auction proved tense for Karen and Tricia as their first two purchases didn't go down too well.

Their initial purchase lost them £19 with the next securing a mere £1 profit.

However, their luck changed when the angel came under the hammer.

Bidding kicked off at £50, but it quickly escalated as excitement built among prospective buyers, leaving the sisters astounded.

Rooting for their success, Charlie watched as a bid of £180 was placed, unable to contain his excitement, he commented: "Blimey O'Riley!"

Ultimately, the angel fetched a whopping £200, prompting the stunned BBC host to declare: "Oh, that is unbelievable!"

The sale brought in a modest profit of £125, earning the sellers a tidy £107 before it was time for their expert's bonus buy.

Their expert, Colin, splashed out an eye-watering £131 on a weathered moss-covered saddle stone.

However, optimism turned into mild disappointment when the item secured just £90 at auction.

Breaking down the figures, Charlie said: "That's lost you £41. You were up £107, so you're still up £66. How good is that? It's marvellous. If you'd never met Colin you would have been up over £100!"

His playful jibe was taken in stride as everyone burst into laughter.

At the day's close, it was the red team who triumphed over the blue team, with the other team earning £27 in profits.
