5 shows to binge if you love Industry before season 3 drops on BBC

Send Push

Industry season three is just days away from landing in the UK. On October 1, fans can finally stream all eight episodes of the HBO and BBC series, on BBC iPlayer.

The steamy finance drama follows five graduates working at a leading investment bank, Pierpoint & Co., and fighting for permanent positions at the company. The hit show, created by collaborators Konrad Kay & Mickey Down, has officially been renewed for a fourth series, just weeks after its new season premiered in the US.

Myha’la plays the lead character, Harper Stern, a Black American woman who grapples with working her way up the industry ladder while trying to find her social footing in London.

Marisa Abela also stars as wealthy nepo baby Yasmin Kara-Hanani alongside Harry Lawtey who plays Robert Spearing, a working-class character.

Over the last two seasons, the series has unabashedly looked at the British class system, sexism in corporate fields and the dark underbelly of working in finance.

While UK fans await the drop of season three, here are five similar shows to binge now, as recommended on Reddit, by fans of the show.

Billions

Billions follows a legal crusade between hedge fund manager Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis) and U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti). Bobby’s work raises a red flag for Chuck and the attorney sets out to build a case against him.

Across seven seasons, the drama handles themes of wealth, corruption, and legal battles, along with the personal toll these take on the characters.

The Showtime series received critical acclaim when it was airing, and won The Satellite Award for Best Television Series – Drama in 2023.

Billions is available to stream now on Paramount+.

Succession image

Succession follows the often-toxic dynamics within the Roy family, owners of a global media empire.

The series explores a sibling rivalry between Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Shiv (Sarah Snook) as they attempt to win control of their father’s company.

Although it tackles heavy themes of power, betrayal and politics, the series seamlessly blends drama with dark comedy and satire.

Written by Jesse Armstrong (Fresh Meat, Peep Show), in its fourth and final season, the dramedy was nominated for 27 Emmys and won six including an award for best writing.

Succession is available to stream on Sky Go and Now TV.

Mad Men

Mad Men takes place in 1960s New York, where suave advertising executive Don Draper (Jon Hamm) navigates the period's ever-changing social landscape.

Its characters are confronted with conflicts around gender roles, identity and the 1960s-70s political landscape. 17 years after its premiere, the period drama is still lauded by critics as one of the greatest TV dramas.

All seven seasons of Mad Men are available on Amazon Prime Video.

Skins

Skins takes an unfiltered look at the lives of Bristol teens in the 2000s. Starring Nicholas Hoult, Kaya Scodelario and Dev Patel, each episode focuses on the life of a different teen navigating mental health, drugs and sex.

Although a raunchy take on coming-of-age TV, especially for the time, Skins is now a cult-classic with UK and worldwide fans.

Skins is available to stream on All4.

White Gold

White Gold follows the morally questionable work life of Vincent Swan (Ed Westwick), a salesman in the double-glazing industry.

Set in 1980s Essex, the dark-comedy comments on materialism and greed. It also stars comedic British actors James Buckley and Joe Thomas, who viewers will recognise from The Inbetweeners.

Although its humour can be divisive, the series received positive reviews, with an 88% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics and viewers.

White Gold is available to stream on Netflix.

Industry Season Three will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer, from October 1.
